広田教授、高端准教授とKPI訪問団
3月8日（金）、埼玉大学はタイ?プラチャーティポック王立学院（KPI?タイ国国民議会附属の研究教育機関)からの要請を受け、タイの政府部門及び民間企業の幹部からなるKPI訪問団39名を受け入れました。
中林副学長（国際?研究担当）からの歓迎挨拶の後、今回の訪問団の代表でありかつて本学にあった大学院政策科学研究科（現 政策研究大学院大学）で学んだWoothisarn Tanchai教授からもご挨拶があり、和やかな雰囲気で研修が始まりました。
研修では、人文社会科学研究科?広田幸紀教授が“Emerging Initiatives of Japan’s Municipalities: SDGs and Development Cooperation”、同高端正幸准教授が“Central-Local Fiscal Relations and Postwar Development in Japan: Good or Bad?”をテーマに講演を行いました。
参加者からは日本の自治体のSDGsへの取り組みを含む日本の自治体の地方創生の取り組み事例や高齢化といった社会問題に対する財政のあり方などについて様々な質問があり、活発な議論がなされました。
Saitama University (SU) conducted a training program on March 8, 2019 for 39 executive officers of several government/private sectors in Thailand, in response to a request from the King Prajadhipok’s Institute (KPI).
The program began amicably with welcome address by SU Vice President Seiichiro Nakabayashi and greetings by Prof. Woothisarn Tanchai, who earned master’s degree from the Graduate School of Policy Science, SU in 1986 (reorganized into GRIPS: National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies). Participants listened to lectures, “Emerging Initiatives of Japan’s Municipalities: SDGs and Development Cooperation” by Prof. Koki Hirota, and “Central-Local Fiscal Relations and Postwar Development in Japan: Good or Bad?” by Assoc. Prof. Masayuki Takahashi, both from the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
During the Q&A session, pilot projects for municipality’s efforts on regional revitalization, including SDGs in Japan and local finance in social problems like population-ageing were discussed among the participants.
