応用生態工学会で、本学交換留学生が優秀賞受賞！Exchange Student Receives Honorable Recognition by ECES!

STEPS(Short-Term Exchange Program, Saitama University)留学生のJayatu Kanta Bhuyanさんが、応用生態工学会第20回研究発表会(9月2日?東京大学)において「優秀口頭研究発表賞」を受賞しました。

Jayatuさんは、2015年10月より1年間、本学に交換留学生として在籍し、通常のSTEPS留学生の講義の受講とともに、理工学研究科環境社会基盤コースの古里栄一助教とダム貯水池の水質保全技術に関する基礎的研究をわずか8ヶ月で行い、その結果を発表した結果が学会で評価されたものです。

本表彰は学生だけでなく教員も対象としたもので、STEPS学生が受賞したことは極めてまれな例です。Jayatuさんは現在、Brandenburg University of Technology, Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU, Cottbus, Germany) に戻り修士論文のための研究をしています。

Mr. Jayatu Kanta Bhuyan received ‘Award for Excellent Oral Presentation’ at the 20th annual conference of Ecology and Civil Engineering Society (ECES) held at the University of Tokyo on September 2, 2016. 

Jayatu visited Saitama University as an exchange student for one year from October, 2015 through STEPS (Short-Term Exchange Program, Saitama University). He enrolled in regular classes as other STEPS students do; however, he additionally worked with Professor Eiichi Furusato of Graduate School of Science & Engineering and conducted a basic study of water quality conservation technology of dam reservoir for 8 months. The research result presented by Jayatu was highly evaluated by ECES. This particular award was targeted at not only students but professional researchers; therefore, it was an extremely rare case that an SU exchange student received this award.

At present, he is back on his home campus, BTU, Cottbus, Germany doing his research for an MA dissertation.
